North Country visitors and families alike should mark their calendars for the fun, funky and fabulous Annual North Country Moose Festival. Friday's activities will begin in Colebrook with tree farm tour, moose mud pond fun and games, art show, music and magician at the bandstand, chicken barbecue, about 100 classic car parade, and guided moose tours. Saturday's entertainment starts at 9am with a Moose Country Fair (crafters & vendors galore), Auto Show, photography contest, fishing adventures, historical horse & wagon tours, 10-3 entertainment at the bandstand, moose stew cook-off, dog show, moose calling contest, and rubber ducky race. Then we move to Pittsburg for guided hikes, dairy farm tours, boat parade, chicken barbecue, magician, guided moose tour, and music & dancing under the tent at Lake Francis 'til 10 pm. Sunday 8-11 am festival breakfast and 10:30 Blessing of the Autos at the Shrine in Columbia.

Come to a real old fashioned Old Home Day; this town has been practicing how to do it right for 83 years. This event starts with a parade down New Hampshire's longest main street. Crafts displays are numerous and the flea market includes an old engine display, cotton candy, popcorn, t-shirt sales, free concerts and lunch wagon Contests include photography, cooking and flower arrangements. The Senior Class will present a delicious chicken barbecue at the Pittsburg School. A fishing derby for the kids; some nice fish have been caught from that kids' pond.

A lunch of sweet, succulent 'maple syrup on snow’ begins three days of enjoyment. Just watch local people at their best getting together with their hometown friends to celebrate their town's day. Friday night starts with the Crowning of the Queen, then, music, and raffles. Fun filled day on Saturday with parade, games, classic car show and auction. Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can take some time to watch international ballgames.

Come celebrate Our Founder’s Birthday. Free birthday cake & lemonade while listening to live music in a country setting. The Poore Farm Museum is a historic homestead/settlement documenting one family's life from the 1830s to the 1980s. The house, barns and outbuildings are all in original condition and reflect their use and era. The feeling one gets when you enter the homestead is to step back in time, to a time that existed prior to rural electrification of the northernmost regions of N.H.

Take a scenic bike ride and meet some new friends while helping raise money for the local Cancer Fund. This is a 20-mile bike ride beginning at Lake Francis Boat Ramp in Pittsburg. Registration starts at 9am. If you only want to bike for 7 miles you start at the County Farm Road in Stewartstown, registration is 10:45. Helmet required.

Set aside Labor day weekend for an event hosted by the Knights of Columbus to support Our Lady of Grace Shrine. The games begin on Friday at 6 pm and last until the afternoon on Sunday. Admission is free all day every day at the ball fields. The Cook Shack will be open so all you need is your chair and cheering voice.
